Australian Towns & Cities
Victoria: Orbost
Incorporating photos and Information from Michael Greenslade's former Australian Towns, Cities and Highways site

Orbost, located on the Princes Highway where it crosses the Snowy River, is an important centre for the far eastern area of Victoria. Set amongst lush, green and fertile pastures, the town is an important stop for motorists due to its relative remoteness and also the centre for the surrounding dairy and timber industries.

Orbost itself has a reasonable shopping precinct, the Rainforest Botanical Gardens and is close to several national parks. Certainly a good destination for those wanting to explore the Snowy River and the lush south-eastern part of Australia.
