New South Wales: Merimbula
Incorporating photos and Information from Michael Greenslade's former Australian Towns, Cities and Highways site

Merimbula is the most commercialised centre on NSW's south coast. With only a modest population of 3,000, Merimbula boasts the Woolworths, McDonalds and Target chains. The main street, pictured below indicates the activity it receives on a typical weekend. The area, in the heart of the sapphire coast, has excellent coastal scenery, beaches, and as usual, access to the excellent Great Dividing Range national parks. Also worth a visit are Magic Mountain - a mini theme park, nestled in the bushlands on the hill directly to the town's north, and the town's aquarium.
