General Information:
State Route 87 is a short dual carriageway suburban arterial road in Perth's northern suburbs.
The route was once the northern terminus of the Mitchell Freeway (SR2) at Currambine, but now connects Marmion Avenue (SR71) with the freeway and Joondalup city centre.
History:
- July 2008: Upgrade to dual carriageway along Burns Beach Road from Delgado Parade, Iluka to Joondalup Drive, Joondalup commences. 1
- 2 November 2008: Interchange with Mitchell Fwy at Currambine opened to traffic. 2
- December 2023: State Route 87 decommissioned between Ocean Beach Rd and Shenton Av junction and Marmion Av at Iluka. 3
