General Information:

Located in the wheatbelt region of Western Australia, State Route 120 is a rural highway connecting some of the oldest European settlements in the state.

Servicing agricultural properties, commercial, industrial and residential areas, the route runs parallel with the Perth-Albany railway corridor for most of its entire length.

History:

1949: Great Southern Highway name gazetted. 2
2001: Link Road (Narrogin Bypass) named Pioneer Drive. 3
November 2016: Stage 2 (the southern section) of Narrogin Bypass opened to traffic. 4

Narrogin: Pre 2001 Alignment:

Before Stage 1 of the Narrogin Bypass was completed, SR120 followed a route through the Narrogin town centre. The subsequent images were captured after the inauguration of Stage 1 of the bypass but are included here to offer context for the previous route.

Narrogin: 2001-2016 Alignment:

Stage 1 of the Narrogin Bypass opened to traffic in 2001. 3 As a result, SR120 was re-routed around the shopping precinct of the Narrogin town centre. This configuration remained in place under November 2016 when stage 2 of the Narrogin Bypass opened to traffic. 4 The photos below show that routing.
