General Information:

Bunbury Outer Ring Road is a dual carriageway arterial route on the southeastern side of Bunbury, it operates mostly as a heavy vehicle bypass at the moment, though open to all forms of traffic, but future plans include extension of the route, and eventually making it the new bypass of Bunbury, which would most likely see National Route 1 re-routed along its length. This extension work has commenced and should be completed in 2024. The current Bunbury bypass via Robertson Dr handles a lot of local traffic and can experience some congestion, which is made worse by traffic passing through the area during school and public holidays.

May 2013: Construction of Bunbury Outer Ring Road completed. It was officially opened by the then Transport Minister Troy Buswell and Federal Labor Senator Sue Lines. ²
