General Information:

Metropolitan Route 4 is an arterial route on the Mornington Peninsula, linking Frankston with Cranbourne. The route is a mix of single and dual carriageway road, and cross a couple of major routes in the area such as Moorooduc Hwy (MR11) and Western Port Hwy (M780).

Metropolitan Route 67, for 400 m, between Nepean Hwy (MR3) and Baxter Street, Frankston.

Tourist Drive 12, for 5 km, between Nepean Hwy (MR3) and McClelland Dr, Langwarrin.

1965: MR4 introduced. ³

March 1980: Cranbourne Road duplication in Frankston. ⁴

2008: Design and construction of the 1.4 km duplication of the Cranbourne-Frankston Road between Centre Road and Western Port Highway (M780) at Frankston. Scope of works included retaining walls, roundabouts, service relocation, street furniture and traffic signalisation with landscaping. ⁵
