Metropolitan Route 32 is generally arterial standard, and traverses east to west across central Melbourne.

History:
- 1965: Metropolitan Route 32 introduced. 1
- 1988: Metropolitan Route 32 rerouted in the city to its current alignment. The route originally travelled via La Trobe St and Adderley St to Dudley St. 2
- 6 September 2006: The duplication of Canterbury Road between Bayswater Road and Dorset Road in Bayswater North was opened to traffic by the then Transport Minister Peter Batchelor. 3
Laverton North to Montrose
Black Intersection Directional Sign:
Black ID sign at Laverton North on Boundary Road, July 2006. The sign was on the splitter island at the Fitzgerald Rd / Boundary Rd roundabout, facing southbound traffic. It was removed after duplication works to Boundary Road. 1
