General Information:

M39 / A39 is a major route connecting the Hume Freeway with the Goulburn Valley farming region and mid Western New South Wales and eventually Queensland. The standard of the route varies from rural freeway conditions to rural highway conditions.

Multiplexes along the route include:
B400 (Murray Valley Hwy), for 14 km, between Strathmerton and Koonoomoo.
C361 (Katamatite-Nathalia Rd), for 1.5 km, Numurkah.

History:

2002: The 20 km Murchison East Deviation opened to traffic. 2
14 February 2008: Duplicated lanes on the Arcadia section of the Goulburn Valley Highway opened to traffic. The work involved the construction of 11 kilometres of duplicated carriageway, a rest area and landscaping. 3
December 2009: Construction commenced on the 17 km Nagambie Bypass. 4
