General Information:
C311 forms part of the old Hume Highway alignment between Broadford and Kilmore. The route passes through rural, commercial and residential areas.
History:
- 3 May 1976: Wallan to Broadford bypass (Hume Fwy) opened by the Premier of Victoria, the Hon R J Hamer, ED, MP. At that time it was the longest section of freeway ever opened at one time in Victoria (34 km) and was the 'single biggest construction project carried out by the CRB since its inception in 1913'. 2
