History:

1851: Construction of a timber bridge over Leigh River on Shelford-Bannockburn Road. 2
1856: McMillans Bridge over Little Woady Yallock River was also built by the Central Road Board. 3
22 July 1871: Pitfield Bridge on Rokewood-Skipton Road at Pitfield over the Woady Yallock River opens to traffic. The bridge is a riveted metal Warren Truss bridge on bluestone abutments. 4
1873: The Iron Bridge over the Leigh River at Shelford was erected. This bridge has since been superseded with the construction of a new concrete bridge adjacent to the original structure. 2
1967: Rokewood-Skipton Road at Pitfield realigned, as a result a new crossing over Woady Yallock River was also built. 3
2007: Bridge replacement at Salt Creek Bridge on Rokewood-Skipton Road occured. 5 Also a new roundabout was built at the intersection of Midland Highway and Shelford- Bannockburn Road. 6
