General Information:
B81 is a rural route linking the outskirts of Adelaide with the Southern Goyder region.
Thiele Highway was named after the Australian author Colin Thiele, who was born in Eudunda, educated in Kapunda and many of his stories involved rural life in South Australia. 2
History:
- June 2005: Thiele Highway named. 3
- December 2012: Work commenced on construction of a dedicated right hand turn lane, an additional lane for through traffic and improved line marking at the Saddleworth / Eudunda intersection on the Thiele Highway. 4
- 2016: Shoulder sealing and safety barrier installation between Kapunda and Gawler. 5
