General Information:
A13 is one of the main north-south routes in metropolitan Adelaide and links the city to the Fleurieu Peninsula, the route starts in Bedford Park and continues through Morphett Vale, Reynella and Old Noarlunga. From Old Noarlunga, Main South Road continues south as the B23, while the A13 follows Victor Harbor Road to the small town of Mount Compass then south onto the holiday destination of Victor Harbor. 2
History:
- 1998: A13 route number given when Transport SA was rolling out route numbers with the introduction of the alphanumeric numbering system.
- 2004: upgrade of the Main South Road, Beach Road and Doctors Road Intersection at Hackam West.
- November 2017: Installation of first Southern Expressway bridge, forming part of interchange with Main South Rd at Bedford Park. 3
- August 2018: Installation of second Southern Expressway bridge, forming part of interchange with Main South Rd at Bedford Park. 4
