General Information:
State Route 14 is a rural outback route in Queensland's south west and central west, which links the town of Birdsville with the Mitchell Highway and the rest of the major highway network.
History:
- 2009: Road and bridge works at the Ward River Bridge site about 18 km west of Charleville off the Diamantina Developmental Road. The bridge was constructed on a new alignment. 3
- 2012: Completion of paving and sealing 11 km of Diamantina Developmental Road, west of Windorah. 4
- February 2017: Bridge strengthening works along the Diamantina Developmental Road between Charleville and Quilpie. The bridges upgraded are Bulloo River Channel bridge, Bulloo River Bridge and the Paroo River Bridge. 5
- 2018: Completion of paving and sealing of a 3 km section of the Diamantina Developmental Road, west of Windorah. 6
