General Information:

State Route 12 is located in the Burnett region of Queensland and links the Bruce Highway and Burnett Highway. The route passes through a few small settlements and services mostly rural and bushland areas.

August 2014: Work begins on sealing a 12 km section of Monto-Mount Perry Road. ²

2015: The bridge over the Burnett River Bridge on Monto–Mount Perry Road washed away by flooding. ³

October 2015: Completion of widening and sealing almost 12 km of gravel road, creating about 18 km of continuous bitumen road. The work was done in sections: Burnett River to Oaky Creek, Eagle Heights to Scrubby Creek and Scrubby Creek to Eastern Creek. ²

18 May 2017: The replacement bridge over the Burnett River opened to traffic. The new bridge was built wider to allow two lanes of traffic where it was previously only one, and it is also built from reinforced concrete and is on a better alignment for improved visibility and safety. ³
