General Information:

Metroad 2 is a divided arterial road in the southern suburbs of Brisbane.

The route acts as a connector between several major roads in the city, including Ipswich Mwy (M7), Gateway Mwy (M1), Beaudesert Rd (NR13) and also links the city's eastern and western suburbs. It's a priority freight route that forms part of the Brisbane Urban Corridor. As such, it supports a large number of both commuter and heavy vehicle movements. ²

1995: Metroad 2 replaces State Routes 20 and 21 between Goodna and Rochedale as part of the Metroad numbering system introduction.

November 2008: Metroad 2 truncated with the introduction of M7 along Ipswich Mwy from Dinmore to Rocklea. ³

May 2011: Extension of the right-turn lane from Granard Road into Beatty Road south at Rocklea. ⁴
