General Information:
Metroad 6 is a collection of local roads that form one large route, which is one of Sydney's major arterial roads.
The
route is mostly suburban arterial standard. At the southern end around
Lucas Heights through to Heathcote, it's mostly 2 to 3 lane single
carrigeway. The rest of the route is mostly 4 to 6 lanes divided,
however some of the route is 4 lane undivided around the northern end
and in the Bankstown area.

punt that operated between Lugarno and Illawong. At the time the
existing bridge was built, the piles and abutments for a second bridge
were also constructed. 1

implemented on Alfords Point Road. 1
- 1991: Alfords Point
Road was extended as a four lane road from Brushwood Drive to Old Illawarra Road,
Menai to provide for growth in Menai. 1

and Hume Highway at Stacey Street intersection. 1

the intersection of Alfords Point Road and Old Illawarra Road, Menai. 1
