General Information:

B94 is a rural highway linking the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area with the Canberra region. The route is named after Chicago architect Walter Burley Griffin, designer of the cities Canberra, Griffith and township of Leeton. 2

Multiplexes along the route include:

• A39 (Newell Highway), for 18 kilometres between Mirrool and Ardlethan

History:

• 1974: SR94 introduced.
• 2013: SR94 replaced by B94 route number.
• October 2013: Work commenced to improve the intersection of Burley Griffin Way and Nubba Road 13 km west of Harden. The work involved widening the road and building a 3.5 metre right turn lane from Nubba Road, installing drainage and upgrading directional and warning signs. 3
• May 2014: Upgrade works commenced at Springdale, about 22 kilometres east Temora. The work carried out included shoulder widening, installing safety barriers, improving signs along the road, removing roadside hazards such as vegetation, relocating a power pole and improving line marking. 4
• February 2018: Commencement of a $1.95 million project to repair and strengthen a section of Burley Griffin Way at Stockinbingal. Work involved repairing the road surface, improving drainage and upgrading safety barriers, signage and line marking. 5
