General Information:

State Route 132 is a major Hunter region east-west route, joining the Pacific and New England Highways with the coal mining and tourist areas of Kurri Kurri and Cessnock.

History:

• March 2003: An upgrade of a 860m section of Maitland Road was completed and included provisions for cyclists and a wider pavement. 1
• June 2003: Upgrades to SR132 at Abermain (Cessnock Road), Buchanan and Black Hill (John Renshaw Drive). 1
• June 2004: Replacement of the guardrail on Weston Overhead Bridge at Cessnock Road, Weston. 2
